Football: Wolves Claw Sheffield United in EPL Season Opener

Europa League quarter-finalists Wolverhampton Wanderers scored twice in the first six minutes start to the new English Premier League season with a 0-2 victory at Sheffield United on Monday, 14th, 2020.

Mexican forward Raul Jimenez’s excellent finish gave Wolves a third-minute lead for Nuno Espirito Santo’s side.

Sheffield United barely had time to recover from that early blow before Wolves added a second three minutes later, after unmarked Morocco’s national team captain Romain Saiss headed beyond the Blades debutant goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale the 22-year-old – an £18m summer signing from Bournemouth.

The second round of the Carabao Cup is up next for both sides as Sheffield United travel to Premier League rivals Burnley on Thursday, September 17th, while Wolves host Championship side Stoke later on the same day.
