Afc Leopards Claw Naibois to Top Sportpesa Premier League

AFC Leopards took back their top position of the SportPesa League standings after beating the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Mozzartbet Cup champions Nairobi United 2-0 at Nyayo Stadium on Wednesday, 7 January, 2026.
Ingwe, who over the weekend surrendered the lead after being stunned by Kakamega Homeboyz, scored in either half to climb back to a familiar position they famously held through the festive break.
Fred Ambani’s side took the lead in the 19th minute, when Nairobi United’s Michael Karamor turned a Tyson Otieno corner into his own net.
With 20 minutes left on the clock, midfielder Kelly Madada collected a pass from Samuel Ssenyonjo, before sneaking past an on-rushing Ernest Mohamed to complete the score and cap a decent afternoon fror Ingwe.
A seventh win for AFC Leopards this season took them a point above arch-rivals Gor Mahia on 27, while Naibois, who saw one of their new mid-season signings Roy Okal make his debut, remained ninth with 19 points.
