NAIROBI — Westlands MCA Alvin Palapala’s approval rating has continued to rise, with successive surveys conducted by Intouch Polls showing a steady increase in his standing among voters across the constituency.

The trend follows an earlier June 2026 survey, which placed Palapala’s approval rating at 39 percent, already putting him ahead of other potential political contenders in Westlands.

The July survey was conducted between July 15 and 17, while the latest survey took place between August 15 and 17, 2026. The research was conducted through telephone interviews with up to 3,000 voters across all wards in Westlands.

The two latest surveys show that Palapala has continued to strengthen his position since the June baseline, pointing to a sustained rise in voter approval over the three months.

Kitisuru remains Palapala’s strongest base

Palapala recorded his highest approval rating in Kitisuru Ward, where he currently serves as the sitting MCA.

His strong performance in Kitisuru reflects his established political base and continued engagement with residents in the ward.

However, his performance across the wider constituency is also significant because the surveys drew respondents from all Westlands wards, rather than concentrating only on his home ward.

The findings therefore suggest that his political profile is gaining wider recognition beyond Kitisuru.

Three consecutive surveys show upward movement

The June, July and August surveys provide a useful picture of Palapala’s changing standing among Westlands voters.

His 39 percent approval rating in June gave him an early lead, while the July and August surveys recorded further improvement.

For political observers, the consistency of the trend is notable because it points to continued growth rather than a one-off increase.

The latest figures come as political activity begins to intensify ahead of the 2027 General Election, with potential candidates increasingly building grassroots networks and positioning themselves within their constituencies.

A growing political profile

Palapala’s rising approval rating could strengthen his position as political competition in Westlands begins to take shape.

His strongest numbers in Kitisuru provide him with an established base, while the constituency-wide results indicate growing support across the wider Westlands area.

However, approval ratings remain a snapshot of voter sentiment at the time a survey is conducted and should not be interpreted as an election result or guarantee of victory.

With the 2027 elections still ahead, subsequent surveys will be important in determining whether Palapala can maintain the momentum recorded between June and August.

For now, the three consecutive Intouch Polls surveys point to a clear trend: Alvin Palapala’s approval rating in Westlands is steadily rising, with Kitisuru remaining his strongest base.
