Kenyan Premier League champions Kenya Police surrendered a two goal lead as Kakamega Homeboyz rallied to secure a p 2-2 draw in a SportPesa League encounter staged at Bukhungu Stadium on Monday, 22 December.
The law enforcers took a two goal lead in the first half through Marvin Nabwire and Charles Ouma before,the hosts putting up a spirited second-half resurgence inspired by Potiphar Odhiambo and substitute Hillary Otieno, ensured the points were shared in a four-goal thriller.
The result proved costly for Police, who missed a golden opportunity to reclaim top spot and instead wrapped up the year fourth on 22 points. Homeboyz, meanwhile, remained sixth on 21 points, just three adrift of leaders Tusker FC.
Ulinzi 3 Posta Rangers 0
Five times champions Ulinzi Stars returned to winning ways with a hard fought 3-0 victory over Posta Rangers courtesy of a hat trick from the on-form Paul Okoth in a FKF Premier League match played on Monday 22 December at the Ulinzi Sports Complex.
Ulinzi went into the match on the back of a four-match winless streak including three consecutive losses leading to the match and sat 15th on the log standings.
Posta on the other hand were on a four-match unbeaten run where they had also not conceded a goal.
With the win, Ulinzi leapfrogged Bidco to move to 14th on the log with 16 points as Posta remained eighth with 21 points.
Kariobangi Sharks 0 Sofapaka 0
Relegation zone sides Kariobangi Sharks and Sofapaka battled out to a goalless draw in a match played at the Kasarani Annex, on Monday, 22 December.
Mara Sugar 1 Murang'a Seal 3
At Awendo Green Stadium, Murang'a Seal posted a 3-1 win over hosts Mara Sugar.
Seal took the lead in the 31st minute through Joe Waithira who also doubled their lead 10 minutes later from the penalty spot but Jimmy Owili halved the deficit in the 45th minute.
In the second half, Lucas Maina restored Seal’s two-goal lead in the 68th minute as Seal went on to claim victory that propelled them to ninth on the log with 18 points, same with Mara Sugar.
