FIFA, FKF officials inspect Stadia as 2027 AFCON Preps continue

FKF welcomed FIFA officials to Stadia inspection in Afcon readiness
The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) officials have today, Thursday 5th March, 2026 accompanied FIFA officials Abigael Hailemichael and Davis Ndayisenga to an inspection exercise at various stadiums around Nairobi as Kenya co timues with preparations fot the upcoming 2027 Pamoja AFCON. FKF interim General Secretary/CEO Dennis Gicheru alomgside other FKF officials joined the high level FIFA inspection officials who are in the country for an inspection tour. The FIFA officials, alongside FKF officials, they inspected Kasarani, Nyayo, Stadium, Police Sacco, and Ulinzi Sports Complex.  FKF President Hussein Mohammed and National Executive Member Abdalla Yusuf hailed the collaboration between FIFA and FKF which is growing stronger with the aim to sustaining a progressive working relationship ahead of the 2027 AFCON and beyond. Last month, CAF and FKF officials, concluded the safety, security and infrastructure inspections at Kasarani Main Stadium, the Kasarani Annexes, Utalii Grounds and Kenya Academy of Sports training sites. The inspection marked the completion of the initial inspection phase, with the next phase scheduled in three months as preparations for hosting Pamoja AFCON 2027 continue in collaboration with CAF and key stakeholders. Hussein has intimated that a major announcement is set to be made in the collaborative engagements between FKF, FIFA and the continental football governing body CAF noting that through working together, Kenyan football is on the rise. The close working relationship that has been crafted between FIFA and FKF has in the recent past seen both Hussein and Yusuf formally inducted into the FIFA Institutional Relations Committee and the FIFA Stadium and Safety Committee respectively.
