FKF President Hussein Mohammed, CEO Dennis Gicheru and NEC Member Abdallah Yusuf Rally Behind Gor Mahia Ahead of CECAFA Kagame Cup Final
KIGALI, Rwanda – Football Kenya Federation (FKF) President Hussein Mohammed has led the country's football fraternity in rallying behind Gor Mahia ahead of today's CECAFA Kagame Cup final against Rwanda's Rayon Sports at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
The eagerly anticipated final is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 PM Kenyan time, with the Kenyan champions looking to end a 41-year wait for the regional title and cap off an impressive campaign by bringing the trophy back home.
In a show of support ahead of the decisive encounter, Hussein Mohammed visited the Gor Mahia camp in Kigali, where he encouraged the players and technical bench, assuring them that millions of Kenyans are firmly behind their quest for regional glory.
"Gor Timbe Duto Yuakni! Best wishes to Gor Mahia FC in the CECAFA Kagame Cup final today. You've represented the country well this far, now let's crown it all by bringing the title home," said the FKF President.
He praised Gor Mahia's performances throughout the tournament, noting that the club's run to the final reflects the steady growth of the FKF Premier League and demonstrates that Kenyan clubs are once again becoming competitive on the regional and continental stage.
"Ahead of the CECAFA Kagame Cup final tonight, I visited Kenya's representatives Gor Mahia FC to encourage the team and to reaffirm that Kenyans are rallying behind them to bring the trophy home.
"The club's performance in the tournament demonstrates the steady growth of our league and signals that Kenyan clubs are re-establishing themselves in continental competitions.
"The Federation will continue to give its full support to all clubs representing Kenya internationally as we collectively work towards a return to our glory days," he added.
FKF CEO Dennis Gicheru also sent a message of encouragement to K'Ogalo, expressing confidence that the record Kenyan champions have what it takes to lift the coveted regional trophy.

Adding his voice, FKF NEC Member Abdallah Yusuf applauded Gor Mahia for flying the Kenyan flag high throughout the competition and urged the team to complete the mission.

The final pits two of East Africa's biggest football clubs against each other, with Gor Mahia facing tournament hosts Rayon Sports in what is expected to be a fiercely contested battle before a packed Amahoro Stadium.
