A lone goal netted by Alpha Onyango was enough for the Kenyan Premier League defending champions Gor Mahia to edge out Bandari 1-0 at Nyayo National Stadium on Saturday and maintain their perfect start to the title defence.

The defensive midfielder struck in the 69th minute, finishing from close range after substitute Ebenezer Assifuah picked him out with a well-timed pass to break the deadlock in a tightly contested encounter.

The goal was Onyango's second match-winning strike of the season, having also scored late in Gor's 1-0 victory over APS Bomet.

The victory takes Gor to nine points from three matches, making them the only side to have won all their opening fixtures.

The champions began their campaign with a 4-2 victory over Murang'a SEAL before edging APS Bomet by a solitary goal.

Migori Youth 0 Mathare United 0

Migori Youth FC and Mathare United played out to a goalless draw in a rain-disrupted encounter at Awendo Green Stadium with both sides extending their winless starts to the 2026/27 season.

The two teams battled through waterlogged conditions in a closely contested affair that produced several scoring opportunities but no goals, leaving them with two points apiece after their opening three matches.

The result leaves both Migori Youth and Mathare United still searching for their first league victories of the campaign, with each side collecting two points from their opening rounds of the season.

Mara Sugar 0 Ulinzi 0

Five times Kenyan Premier League champions Ulinzi Stars continued with their season’s struggles after they were held to a goalless draw by Mara Sugar at St. Sebastian Park, Murang’a.

Ulinzi, who were in the relegation matrix for the better part of last season have also found it difficult to cope with the early pace of the league and suffered a 2-0 home defeat to Tusker in their season opener before battling for a 1-1 draw against Kakamega Homebouz in their last match.

Mara Sugar on the other hand had a bright start to the season, grabbing a 2-2 away draw to 3K FC in the first match of the season before securing a 2-1 win over Mombasa United in their second clash of the season.

In the end, the two teams settled for a barren draw that leaves Mara second on the log with five points as Ulinzi rises to 13th with two points.
