Harambee Starlets kick off their 2028 CAF Women’s Olympic Qualifiers by going on rampage to hammer Seychelles 11-0 at Ulinzi Sports Complex in Nairobi on Thursday, October 8th, 2026.

The goals were scored courtesy of braces from Mercy Airo, Elizabeth Mideva, Airin Madalina, Elizabeth Muteshi and Valarie Nekesa as Martha Amunyolet penned her name on the scoresheet to complete the rout in the one-sided encounter.

The scoreline saw Kenya record their biggest win in seven years, since the 12-0 demolition of Djibouti back in November 2019 in the CECAFA Women's Championship.

In the end, Kenya grabbed an 11-0 win ahead of the second leg scheduled for Tuesday, 12 October, at the same venue, leaving Seychelles with a mountain to climb if they are to mount a comeback.

The win also saw Starlets return to winning ways after a disappointing outing in their last Women’s Africa Cup of Nations campaign some months ago in Morocco, where they wrapped up their group-stage campaign without a win or a goal.

The match was the first leg of a two-legged tie with both encounters set to be played at the Ulinzi Sports Complex due to the unavailability of a CAF-approved venue in Seychelles.
