NAIROBI, Kenya — New data released by Intouch Polls Limited reveals a significant upward trend for Hon. Wlfred Odalo in Mathare, Nairobi’s smallest constituency by land area. The survey, conducted between April 1st and April 3rd, 2026, suggests a shifting political landscape across the constituency’s key wards.

Key Findings from the Intouch Poll

The survey sampled 3,000 registered voters, with an even distribution of 500 respondents from each of the six wards: Hospital, Mabatini, Huruma, Ngei, Mlango Kubwa, and Kiamaiko ward.

Momentum on the Rise: Hon. Odalo’s overall approval rating has moved up by one percentage point compared to the previous polling cycle, indicating sustained growth in constituent confidence.

The Youth Factor: In a decisive demographic win, the poll identifies Hon. Odalo as commanding the largest share of support among the youth constituency. This segment remains a critical "kingmaker" group in Mathare’s high-density electoral environment.

Ward-Specific Gains: While growth was noted across all the wards, Mabatini Ward shows a distinct leap in approval ratings. This surge suggests recent engagements or localized initiatives in Mabatini are resonating strongly with the residents.

The Mathare Context

Covering approximately 3 square kilometers, Mathare is known for its compact geography and high voter density. Analysts are viewing the ability to move polling numbers upward in such a competitive landscape as a sign of effective grassroots mobilization.

"The data shows that the 'Odalo brand' is not just holding steady but actively expanding, particularly among younger voters who are often the most difficult to consolidate," noted a representative from Intouch Polls during the data release.

Outlook

Analysts suggest that the current trajectory puts the Mabati ward MCA in a strong position. If this momentum carries into the remaining months towards the 2026 elections, and the Mabatini surge can be replicated continuously also in the other wards in the constituency, the path ahead looks increasingly favorable for Hon. Odalo.
