Jamaican Artiste Charly Black offers Cash Reward for Recovery of Ksh1.1M Chain Lost in Kenya
Jamaican dancehall artiste Charly Black has announced plans to offer a cash reward to anyone who helps recover his missing jewellery following a performance in Kenya.
Speaking during an interview on the Obinna Live show on Tuesday, the singer revealed that the jewellery went missing after his Saturday night performance, prompting him to ask people around him to help search for it.
“If you watch my performance Saturday night, you’ll see I had it on. But after, I sent everybody to look for it,” Charly Black said.
The artiste expressed his desire to recover the jewellery, explaining that the missing items included a pendant and a chain worth thousands of US dollars.
Pendant worth Ksh776k
During the interview, Charly Black clarified that the pendant alone was valued at $6,000 (Ksh 776,000).
“Yeah, the pendant. It cost $6,000. Of course I want it,” he said when asked whether he wanted the jewellery returned.
He further explained that the $6,000 valuation applied only to the pendant, not the entire piece.
Asked about the chain’s value, the singer estimated that it could be worth between $2,500(Ksh 323,000), noting that it was smaller than another chain being discussed during the conversation.
Based on those estimates, the combined value of the pendant and chain could range between $8,500, equivalent to approximately KSh1.1 million.
During the discussion, the possibility of offering money to whoever finds and returns the jewellery came up. However, Charly Black did not announce a specific reward amount.
“I’m going to talk to Adelaide and find out what’s going on,” he said, adding that he was confident some form of payment would be offered.
The singer also clarified that the reward would be paid in US dollars rather than Kenyan shillings.
When asked whether the payment would be made in USD, he confirmed that it would.
