July Poll: Hon. Wilfred Odalo Extends Lead in Mathare Parliamentary Race with 36.3% Support
Mathare Constituency – Hon. Wilfred Odalo has strengthened his position as the frontrunner in the race for the Mathare parliamentary seat, according to the latest July 2026 opinion poll conducted by InTouch Polls.
The survey, conducted between 1st and 3rd July 2026, places the current Mabatini MCA at 36.3%, representing a 3% improvement from the previous poll conducted in the constituency.
The research was based on random telephone interviews using the latest updated IEBC voter register for Mathare Constituency. According to InTouch Polls, more than 12,000 registered voters participated in the survey, with approximately 2,000 respondents drawn from each of Mathare's six wards to ensure broad representation across the constituency.

Hon. Wilfred Odalo – 36.3%
Bishop Margaret Wanjiru – 19.7%
Hon. Anthony Oluoch (Current MP) – 17.2%
Singer Kevin Bahati – 11.3%
Billian Ojiwa – 4.5%

According to the findings, Odalo's strongest support continues to come from Mabatini Ward, where he currently serves as the elected Member of the County Assembly. His popularity, however, extends beyond his home ward, with growing support recorded across the rest of Mathare Constituency.
Political observers attribute Odalo's growing support to his visibility, grassroots engagement, and his record as one of the most influential leaders in the Nairobi County Assembly.
As the Chairperson of the Budget and Appropriations Committee, Odalo has earned a reputation as one of the Assembly's most effective legislators. Over the years, he has consistently ranked among the best-performing MCAs in Nairobi, receiving positive ratings from fellow MCAs, members of the county executive, Assembly staff, journalists, the business community, and members of the public.
His continued rise in approval ratings suggests that many Mathare residents view him as a strong contender capable of representing the constituency at the national level.
The latest survey also indicates that Odalo has maintained a consistent lead in previous opinion polls conducted within Mathare, further reinforcing his position as the candidate to beat.
With the 2027 General Election drawing closer, political analysts believe the contest is gradually taking shape. If the current trend continues and Odalo sustains his momentum on the ground, he could be well-positioned to capture the Mathare parliamentary seat.
For now, the July findings reaffirm one message: Hon. Wilfred Odalo remains the man leading the race in Mathare.
