Kamba singer Biez Kaviru has begun a remarkable 170-kilometre journey from Kitui to State House, Nairobi, aiming to deliver a powerful message to President William Ruto. The singer’s walk, which started on Friday, January 30, 2026, seeks to raise awareness about cancer, a disease affecting countless Kenyans across the country. In a heartfelt Facebook post, Biez Kaviru shared the emotional weight of his mission: “This letter carries the tears of the people of the Republic of Kenya. So many people are dying in the villages. The monster is eating our fathers, mothers, brothers, and sisters silently. Please help me tag Mr President H.E William Samoei Ruto,” he wrote. He emphasised that the walk is not just a personal mission but a collective call to action: “It’s too heavy. I can’t carry these public tears alone. Kenyans, let’s wake up; together we can win this battle,” he said. As he walked through the counties, Biez Kaviru met with fans and members of the public who joined him in solidarity. Many helped carry a large envelope addressed to Ruto. “On the way, we met people whose lives have been touched by cancer. Their faces, their stories, their hope, these are what keep me moving,” Biez Kaviru shared. The latest update from the journey came from Katangi, on Saturday night, January 31, 2026, where Biez Kaviru shared his reflections on the pain endured by cancer patients: “Tonight, we share the pain cancer victims undergo throughout their sleepless nights. Cancer drains the body the same way miles drain the legs it torments the spirit, yet hope keeps us moving. This journey is for every fighter, every survivor, every soul touched by cancer,” he stated. He also emphasised the need for national unity in tackling the disease: “Cancer is a menace that needs communities, governments, and all sectors to face it head-on. Kenya, my country, we can win this war with determination and positive energy.”
