Kariobangi Sharks drop into Relegation Zone as Ulinzi Get a Lifeline
The 2018 FKF Mozzart Bet Cup champions Kariobangi Sharks slipped back into the relegation zone, despite a last-gasp equaliser to force a 2-2 draw against Kakamega Homeboyz in an Kenyan Premier League clash staged at the Police Sacco Grounds on Saturday, 23 May.
Goals from David Majak, Kenya U20 forward Oliver Majaka, Boniface Nyabuto and Faize Opande ensured the two teams shared the spoils in a four-goal thriller that carried significance at both ends of the table.
The Sharks’ draw pushed them down to 16th as the league enters its final stretch now face a must-win situation in their final two matches of the season as Kakamega Homeboyz, the draw extended their winless run to seven matches.

Ulinzi Stars pipped the 2008 Kenyan Premier League champions Mathare United 2-1 to get a lifeline in a bid to avoid the drop in a league match played at the Ulinzi Sports Complex on Saturday, 23 May.
Mathare United struck first just three minutes after the restart when Adams Nyambane rose highest to head home from a corner kick for his maiden goal for the club.
Paul Okoth headed home a cross from Stephen Nyongesa to level matters for Ulinzi Stars in the 58th minute. The goal was Okoth’s 15th of the season.
In the 84th minute when Joseph Nyale who was promoted from the youth team danced past his marker before squaring a brilliant pass to Paul Okoth, who had ghosted into space inside the area. The striker kept his composure and rifled the ball into the net to complete his brace.
Ulinzi held on for their dear lives in the dying minutes to secure a win that took them to 15th on the log with 35 points with two matches still left to play, while Mathare United remain nervously looking over their shoulders on 38 points with only one game remaining.
