Naibois Whip Slum Boys as Champs Kenya Police Share Spoils
Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Cup champions Nairobi United pipped the 2008 Kenyan Premier League winners Mathare United 2-1 despite finishing the game with 10 men in a match staged at the Kasarani Annex on Saturday, April 25th, 2026.
After a barren deadlock in the first half, Kevin Wangaya dispossessed Mathare United goalkeeper Kevin Ouru, and spotted a gaping goal and passed the ball into the back of the net for the opener.
Mathare got the chance to pull one back in the 64th minute when John Makwatta was brought down in the box with the referee awarding a penalty that he took himself, but his kick to the right side of the goal was saved by Jairo as James Kinyanjui hit the rebound wide.
In the 66th minute Nairobi United were reduced to ten men after midfielder Brian Magare got red-carded for unsportsmanlike conduct for a misplaced word to the referee.
Makwatta would then make up for the penalty miss when he collected a loose ball on the edge of the box and, from a tight angle, directed his shot into the back of the net to half the deficit.
Naibois who went into the encounter with back-to-back wins over Posta Rangers and Murang’a Seal, stood tall to ensure they bag a win that pushed them to sixth with 45 points.

Kariobangi Sharks 1 Muranga Seal 0
Kariobangi Sharks got a lifeline in their relegation battle following a 1-0 win over Murang’a Seal in a match played at the Police Sacco Stadium in Nairobi.

With Ulinzi Stars grabbing a 2-1 win in their clash against Bandari earlier, APS Bomet have now dropped into the relegation zone, but with a chance to leapfrog Ulinzi and Sharks should they win their match against Sofapaka on Sunday, 26 April.
Tusker 0 Mara Sugar 1
David Omondi came off the bench to score a crucial goal for Mara Sugar to edge out Tusker FC 0-1 in the SportPesa League Round 29 clash played on Friday afternoon at the Police Sacco Stadium.
Omondi sealed the win from a set piece for the Sugar Millers in a match that had been a cagey, goalless affair before he coolly found the net from a free kick in the 88th minute.
This result means the Brewers have only secured one victory in their last four outings, suffering three defeats and a draw, a run that has left them in seventh place with 41 points.
