Nairobi County Assembly Speaker Ken Ng’ondi led over 70 Members of County Assembly (MCAs) of to drum support for the re-election of President William Ruto.
The Speaker mobilsed the MCAs in the "ODM Linda Ground with President Ruto" to join Ruto in a church service at PEFA All Nations Gospel Church in Gikomba on Sunday, February 1st 2026, where he outlined their Ruto two term agenda geared towards ensuring that president gets re-elected during the forthcoming 2027 general elections.
Pumwani MCA Paul Ndung’u aka Petit broke protocol by offering his chance as the area ward representative to address and welcome the president and guests to Ngondi to take charge.
Petit paid tribute to president Ruto for delivering on his mandate for the development in the ward where we have realized the construction of a modern market, health centre, fire station and football pitch before leaving the floor for Ngondi to address the congregation.
"If the Pumwani electorate does not give you another term it will be a complete betrayal owing to the developmemt they are enjoying under your stewardship, " said Petit.
Ng’ondi first started by introducing the over 70 MCAs present to the president and congregation before delivering his speech.
"Your Excellency unaona Nairobi imeamka hawa ni MCAs wa Nairobi, I wonder whoever doubts two terms is in which world. As you can see half of the members in attendance in the church are Nairobi MCAs, “said Ng’ondi .
The Speaker said when Ruto was away, the Lands Principal Secretary Nixon Korir and him were responsible in coordinating the broad-based agenda of the two term movement in the city.
Ng’ondi on behalf of the Nairobi MCAs welcomed the president for a cup of tea and round-table meeting at City Hall in the country’s second biggest county assembly boasring of 125 ward representatives.
The church service was attended by the MCAs, Land PS a former Langata MP Nixon Koriri and other leaders including the area Member of Parliament (MP) Yusuf Hassan (Kamkunji), Mark Mwenje (Embakasi West), Ronald Karauri (Kasarani), Easther Pasaris (Nairobi Women Representative), nominated Senator Tabith Mutinda, Peter Orero (Kibra), Anthony Oluoch (Mathare), George Aladwa (Makadara), TJ Kajwang (Ruaraka), Felix Odiwuor Jalango (Langata), Senator Karen Nyamu, Migori Women rep Fatuma Mohammed and Homa Bay governor Gladys Wanga.
