The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) has opened a window for objections as it moves to provisionally register four new political parties.

The notice, issued by John Cox Lorionokou, the Registrar of Political Parties, invites members of the public to raise any objections in writing or in person within seven days of publication.

“This is in line with Section 5 (2) (a) of the Political Parties Act,” Lorionokou said in the notice.

The proposed parties include the National Forum Party (NFP), Clean Alliance Party of Kenya (CAP-K), New Face Party of Kenya (Face), and Mwongozo Mpya Party (MMP).

The National Forum Party will adopt green, black, and red as its official colours. Its symbol is the Aspire Mark, and it carries the slogan: “Tuko One, Tuko True.”

Clean Alliance Party of Kenya will feature green, white, yellow, and dark blue. Its party symbol is a sweeping brush, and it carries the slogan: “Sauti ya Haki.”

The New Face Party of Kenya will use brown, black, and white. The party symbol is Bluetooth, and its slogan reads: “Sauti ya Mwananchi, Nguzo ya Taifa.”

Mwongozo Mpya Party will feature olive green, burnt orange, and black. Its party symbol is a phoenix, and the slogan is: “Sote pamoja.”

The ORPP emphasised that the particulars of each proposed party have been made available on its website, www.orpp.or.ke

Members of the public are encouraged to examine the information and submit any objections or concerns.

Objections can be delivered to the ORPP offices or via email at info@orpp.or.ke or registration@orpp.or.ke.

The Registrar’s notice highlights the importance of public participation in the political process.

“Any objections may be presented from the date of publication of this notice in writing or in person within seven days,” Lorionokou said.

The move comes as the ORPP continues to exercise its mandate under the Political Parties Act to register and regulate political parties, as well as administer the Political Parties Fund.
