Nominated Senator Karen Nyamu donated packets of flour to spread Christmas love to rural communities during the festive season.
Apart from making the food donations, Nyamu went on to wish the residents happy holidays, encouraging them to enjoy Christmas with their families and loved ones peacefully.
Her Christamas goodwill message was met with applause and cheers from the crowd, which continued to sing and dance throughout the event.
The ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) nominated Senator said, the initiative was not being done for political reasons but as a show of love and compassion by celebrating and sharing this festive season with the under-privildged in the society.
“By making this donation it does not mean, you owe me a debt of votes, this gesture is not for political reasonsand expectations but meant out of my kind heart of sharing. The time for politics will come” she said.
In a video shared on her social media platforms, Nyamu is seen dancing alongside a group of women as they sing Kikuyu traditional songs.
The women, visibly excited, march and dance toward a community hall, ululating and chanting in celebration of her visit and the gifts being distributed.
Nyamu joined in the singing and dancing, blending effortlessly with the crowd in a moment that was both festive and communal.
She was dressed in a bright red outfit befitting the Christmas season, complete with a red cap resembling a Santa Claus hat, reinforcing the holiday spirit.
The atmosphere was lively, with residents smiling, singing loudly, and cheering as she walked with them toward the hall where the event took place.
Upon entering the hall, the nominated senator received a warm welcome from residents, many of whom seemed appreciative of the gesture amid the high cost of living affecting many households.
Later in the video, a white lorry is seen arriving at the venue and being guided into a parking area.
The vehicle carried the packets of flour that were distributed to the residents, highlighting the scale of the donation.
Accompanying the video with a Christmas message to her followers, Nyamu wrote: “Merry Christmas to you all. From my family to yours, wishing you good moments with your people.”
