SGA Security Wins Living Planet Award 2026 for Leadership in Sustainable Business
NAIROBI, 03 November 2026 SGA Security has been named the winner of the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce Living Planet Award 2026, in recognition of its commitment to sustainable business practices.
The award was presented during the Netherlands Chamber of Commerce Kenya’s second annual Gala Dinner, under the theme “Celebrating a Living Planet.” The event brought together business leaders and stakeholders to celebrate organisations making meaningful contributions towards a more sustainable future.
The Netherlands Chamber of Commerce Kenya recognised SGA Security's ability to integrate sustainability into its core business operations, highlighting initiatives that demonstrate how businesses can create shared value for people, the planet and the economy.
While receiving the award, the SGA Security Chairman and CEO, Mr. Jules Delahaije, expressed his delight and reinforced their commitment to ensuring sustainable business practices.
“This award is a significant recognition of our commitment to doing business responsibly. At SGA Security, we believe that our responsibility extends beyond providing security services to the communities and businesses we serve. This recognition therefore reinforces our belief that sustainable business practices must be embedded in how we operate every day,” said Mr. Jules.
Among the initiatives highlighted were the company's pioneering adoption of electric vehicles within its operations, demonstrating its commitment to reducing its environmental footprint in an industry traditionally dependent on fuel-powered transport. The Chamber also recognised SGA's innovative approach to recycling old security officers' uniforms into school bags for children, giving them a new purpose while supporting young learners.
The company's commitment to social inclusion was also recognised, particularly its efforts to create opportunities for disadvantaged young people through internship programmes, its support of the Mukuru Rescue Centre and opening up opportunities for women in the traditionally male-dominated security industry.
The award citation emphasised that SGA Security's sustainability initiatives are not standalone corporate social responsibility projects but rather reflect a broader business philosophy in which people, planet and profit can thrive together.
The recognition strengthens SGA Security's position as a responsible corporate citizen committed to contributing to Kenya's sustainable development agenda while setting standards for responsible business practices within the private security industry. SGA Security remains committed to building a safer, more inclusive and sustainable future.
