The Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) will establish the party’s branches across all the universities and higher education institutions of learning in the country as it mobilises the youth ahead of the 2027 general elections in Kenya A meeting between the party's executive and university student leaders resolved that WPF chapters will be established across all universities, colleges, and TVETs to give students a united platform to shape Kenya’s political future. Hosting over 700 student leaders drawn from 224 institutions—including universities, colleges, and TVETs—at the Wiper Patriotic Front (WPF) headquarters in Nairobi, on Monday, September 29th, 2025, the WPF party leader Kalonzo Musyoka underscored that the future of Kenya lies in the hands of young people. During the meeting chaired by Kalonzo, the WPF party leader was joined by a former University of Nairobi (UoN) student leader who is the current Embakasi East Member of Parliament (MP) Babu Owino of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) among other leaders. Kalonzo called on the students and Generation Z to register as voters in large numbers as the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise which resumed on Monday, September 29. “We appeal to young people across the country to register as voters. They have spoken out strongly in recent months, but real change will be achieved at the ballot.” Kalonzo emphasised that meaningful transformation requires active participation in the electoral process, adding that young Kenyans should take the lead. “The installation of a people’s government will be on the ballot. The country is counting on you,” said the former Vice President (VP). The Independent and Electoral Boundaries Commission (IEBC) has set a target of registering 6.3 million new voters, with a significant portion expected to come from young people, making Generation Z a key demographic in the 2027 General Election.
