Team Kenya Glows at Glasgow as NOCK President Maluki Plans Troupes

As the 2026 Commonwealth Games opened in the Scotland capital of Glasgow, yesterday, the Kenyan contingent stepped out in style- all looking elegant, confident, and every bit like champions ready to compete on the world stage.

The Kenyan team, competing at the Commowealth games in Scotland, walked into fame as the competition officially began with Team Kenya in Glasgow Commonwealth Games filled pride around the stadium, marki g a change from the past when Kenyan athletes donned with less flair.

Looking at Team Kenya at the opening ceremony, the Kenyan contingent looked elegant, confident, and every bit like champions ready to compete on the world stage.

The team's presentation reflected a careful planning and attention to detail, with all credit due to NOCK President Shadrack Maluki and his team at the administration, including 1st Deputy President Barnaba Korir as well as the dedicated team of staff at NOCK, who ensured that Team Kenya members were well prepared ahead of the games.

The NOCK top brass got involved, from the first instance, in ensuring that athletes stepped onto that stage with pride and dignity.

With the spotlight now shifting from the ceremony to competition, President Maluki wished Team Kenya every success as they carry Kenya's hopes and dreams to make the nation proud

"As Team Kenya marches proudly into the Opening Ceremony, they carry not only our flag but also the hopes, dreams and pride of every Kenyan," President Maluki said.

"To our athletes, coaches and support staff, you have earned the honour of representing our nation on one of the world's greatest sporting stages. Compete with courage, uphold the values of excellence and integrity, and let the Kenyan spirit shine in every performance. On behalf of the National Olympic Committee of Kenya, I wish Team Kenya every success throughout these Games. Know that an entire nation stands firmly behind you, cheering you on every step of the way," Maluki concluded.
