TikToker Mjaka Mfine Loses Ksh 17K Wig in Nairobi CBD Mugging

TikToker and content creator Content creator Michelle Joyce, popularly known as Mjaka Mfine was a victim of mugging in Nairobi’s central business district (CBD) after muggers snatched her from her head a wig worth Ksh17,000,

The incident occurred when Mjaka Mfine was in Nairobi Town. She recounted the experience to Tony Mwirigi on the "Milele Afternoon" show, which airs on Milele FM.

Mjaka Mfine revealed that the stolen wig was a significant loss, estimating its value at around KSh 17,0001. She explained that wigs of that quality typically start from KSh 15,000.

"I lost my wig at Nairobi CBD. It was that kind of human hair wig whose price typically starts from Ksh 15,000, but mine was of Ksh 17k.”During a phone interview with Milele FM’s Tony Mwirigi two days ago, Mjaka Mfine shared the unsettling details of how her wig, valued at KSh 17,000, was stolen in the city centre.

Interestingly, following the traumatic event, Mjaka Mfine chose not to contact anyone for help immediately. She did not even call her best friend or business partner, Mokaya.

"Ah Hakuna nilipigia simu," she confirmed when asked who she called first. Tony Mwirigi expressed surprise, noting, "Hakukupigia hata Mokaya".

It was only later, after returning home, that she confided in her sister about the robbery. She emphasized that she hadn't told anyone else about the scenario.

In another video on her TikTok, Mjaka Mfine noted encountering at least ten videos detailing similar incidents, explicitly warning about wig thefts: "Utaibiwa wig, niulize mimi" (You'll have your wig stolen, ask me).

She said the situation has made her to be more cautious while walking on the streets and urged the public to exercise extreme caution, especially when leaving town at night or in secluded areas.

Mjaka Mfine’s experience comes amidst growing warnings about increased criminal activity in Nairobi. Online sources and social media have been buzzing with alerts about the return of various gangs, including "wale wa kupaka watu shonde" (those who smear human waste).

These criminals are described as ruthless, capable of hurting victims while stealing their belongings.

There has been a notable surge in such incidents, with one online voice lamenting that "cases zinarise every day".
