Wiper Party Leader Kalonzo Musyoka Honoured as Africa's Political Leader and Personality of the Year 2025

Wiper Political Front party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has been honoured as Africa's Political Leader and Personality of the Year 2025. Kalonzo was honored by London Political Summit and Awards in recognition of his long standing contribution to peace building, good governance, and principled leadership across Africa in a summit that was hosted in the United Kingdom’s (UK) House of Commons graced by British Parliamentarians amongst other guests. The recognition comes five years after Kalonzo was honoured with the Icon of Democracy Award 2021 organised by the he Voice Newsmagazine Prize for his crucial role in steering peace talks as Kenya’s special envoy to South Sudan. In 2016 the former Vice President Kalonzo Musyoka was feted as the African Dignitary Man of the Year by a humanitarian organisation, We Care for Humanity. This was in recognizance of his long time humanitarian works of caring for the needy in the society through the Kalonzo Musyoka Foundation. He was also recognized for his efforts in the integration process of Kenyan’s who had been internally displaced by the 2007-2008 post-election violence. In the United Kingdom, while receiving the award, Africa's Political Leader and Personality of the Year 2025Kalonzo delivered a keynote address on “Democratic Sustainability and Africa’s Future Leadership.” “On behalf of the Kenyan people, I accept this distinction as Africa's Political Leader and Personality of the Year 2025. This honour also goes to the millions of Africans whose resilience, ingenuity, and unwavering spirit are paving the way for a better future for both our continent and the rest of the globe. We are here tonight because of their dreams and stories,” he said. In his speech, the Wiper party leader paid tribute the fallen Kenyas former Prime Minister Raila Odinga as a personality who was unbowed in his determination for Kenya to regain its second self-determination. The London Political Summit & Awards is an annual global forum that unites political leaders, academics, business innovators, and development partners to engage in constructive discussions on governance, democracy, and sustainable development.
