Wiper Party’s Presidential Candidate Kalonzo Cuts Short a 10-Day UK tour to Attend Raila’s Funeral

The Wiper Patriotic Front party leader Kalonzo has cut short his 10 day tour in the United Kingdom (UK) to attend the funeral ceremony of the late Prime Minister Raila Odinga. "Stephen Kalonzo Musyoka, EGH, SC, CS, has departed from Heathrow International Airport (JKIA), London, United Kingdom, for Nairobi, Kenya. The WPF Leader is expected to arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday October 17, 2025 at 6:00AM EAT," Zein Abubakar, Head of the SKM Presidential Secretariat said in a statement. The WPF Leader has left the UK and is expected to arrive at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) on Friday October 17, 2025 at 6:00AM EAT. "HE Dr Musyoka will join the family of Prime Minister Rt Hon Raila Amolo Odinga, EGH, friends and Kenyans at the State Requiem Mass, and pay tribute to his friend and compatriot," read the statement. A public service is planned for Friday at Nyayo National Stadium in Nairobi ahead of Raila’s burial at his Opoda Farm in Bondo on Sunday, October 19th, 2025. Kalonzo who left the country on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 in his condolence message to the man he twice ran as his presidential running mate said he was going to re-arrange his visit in the UK. “I am therefore rearranging my schedule of engagements in the United Kingdom in honour of my fallen brother. May God rest the soul of Prime Minister Raila Amolo Odinga in everlasting peace,” said Kalonzo.
