Former Nairobi deputy governor Polycarp Igathe has been promoted from Chief Growth Officer to become the new Managing Directors of Tiger Brands.
South African-based company Igathe was named among the new Managing Directors of South African-based company Tiger Brands.
“We are pleased to announce the internal appointment of six managing directors who will be leading our newly organised business units, following a review of our operating model and structure to enable consumer obsession, agile execution, and innovation,” part of the statement reads.
Igathe will serve as the head of the International Brands Unit while the other appointees include Quinton Swart to head the Bakeries unit, Dumo Mfini (Culinary), Grant Pereira (Snacks, Treats and Beverages), Liezel Holmes (Grains) and Ismail Nanabhay (Home, Personal Care and Baby).
Tiger Brands is a food and consumer healthcare products company driving growth across 25 countries with five priority markets -Cameroon, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Nigeria.
Igathe has previously worked with Tiger Brands as the Regional Managing Director for East Africa business between 2008 and 2013 before his exit.
A decade later, he rejoined the company in November 2023 and was appointed Chief Growth Officer.
Igathe now adds to his growing number of titles in his business world career spanning decades as he has previously worked in the top management of successful organisations among them Coca-Cola, Kenya Breweries, Haco Industries, Vivo Energy and Equity Bank.
