The Inspector General of Police Japheth Koome has been faulted for his silence over the banditry in the North Rift region.
Senate Majority Leader Aaron Cheruiyot said the police chief has muted after he was placed in his office by the Kenya Kwanza government.
Speaking at a church function in Bomet, the Kericho Senator raised concern over hundreds of families who are going without food where several schools have been closed due to insecurity.
“Our brothers are in dire need of help, they are homeless, and a solution must be availed. We cannot sit down and watch them being displaced from their homes, some have lost their members of the family due to skirmishes,” said the senator.
At the same time, he argued that Interior Cabinet Secretary Kithure Kindiki shouldn’t take the whole blame considering he has a lot to handle in his docket.
The vocal senator also urged the EACC to crackdown on cartels behind the fake fertilizers.
