The official draw for the upcoming Africa Nations Championships (CHAN) is set for January 15 at the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC) in Nairobi at 2000H local time.
The draw will involve 18 teams that have secured their tickets to the continental bonanza, including co-hosts Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania.
The others include: Morocco, Guinea, Senegal, Mauritania, Niger, Burkina Faso, Nigeria, Central African Republic, Congo, DR Congo, Zambia, Angola and Madagascar.
This prestigious tournament, uniquely reserved for African players competing in their domestic leagues, will take place from February 1-28, 2025, across three co-hosting nations: Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania.
The CHAN tournament, distinct from the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), provides a platform to showcase domestic talent and has been instrumental in launching the careers of many African stars.
The tournament will feature Africa’s footballing giants, including reigning champions Senegal, who triumphed over hosts Algeria in a thrilling final in 2022. This edition promises intense competition as teams vie for the coveted title, with games hosted in state-of-the-art venues across East Africa.
