Education Cabinet Secretary Julius Ogamba on Thursday, January 9th, 2024 released the much-awaited results of the 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE).
The exam registered the highest number of candidates ever recorded in the country at 962, 512.
Out of these, 480,310 were male while 482,202 were female.
In the results at least 1,693 scored grade A. 246,391 candidates scored direct university entry grades of C (plus) and above.
There were 840 candidates involved in exam irregularities and their results have been canceled.
2,829 results withheld pending investigations
A total of 7,743 candidates scored grade A (minus), while 19,150 scored grade B (plus).
Some 43,120 scored grade B and 75,347 scored grade B (minus), while 99,338 Scored grade C (plus).
Another 111,717 scored grade C, 118,781 had C (minus), 128,885 scored grade D (plus), 153,334 grade D as 151,487 had D (minus). 48,333 candidates scored grade E.
“Today we are releasing the 2024 KCSE results for the 962,512 candidates, all of whom we have cleared to join various higher learning institutions to pursue careers of their choice,” Education Cabinet Secretary (CS) Julius Ogamba stated while speaking from Mtihani House on Thursday, January 9, 2025.
He further emphasized that all the students who sat for the exams have been cleared to join various institutions of higher learning to pursue careers of their choice.
The CS reiterated the government’s commitment to ensuring that every student, regardless of their grade, has an opportunity to advance in their education or professional training.
