Kenya’s national football team, Harambee Stars, has been drawn into a challenging group for the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), which will take place in August 2025.
Harambee Stars will compete in Group A against Morocco, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), and Zambia. This group has already been labeled the “group of death” by Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Vice President McDonald Mariga, owing to the caliber of the teams involved.
Kenya, co-hosting the tournament alongside Tanzania and Uganda, will look to leverage home advantage to navigate this highly competitive group. The CHAN tournament, exclusive to players featuring in their respective domestic leagues, is expected to showcase intense competition, and Harambee Stars will need to be at their very best to progress.
Football fans across the region are eagerly anticipating the event, which is set to bring the spotlight to East Africa and demonstrate the region’s growing footballing prowess.
