The Sakaja Johnson Foundation on Friday, 17th January 2025 donated foodstuffs to Nairobi’s Bunge la Mwananchi members at Jeevanjee Gardens, where the social governance group popular as the people’s Parliament often assemble.
The donations were given as part of Nairobi Governor Johnson Sakaja’s initiative in a programme to distribute essential foodstuffs to over 200 vulnerable families from the people’s parliament.
The foodstuffs donation, supported by the Sakaja Johnson Foundation, is part of his effort to extend goodwill to city residents and commitment to helping the less fortunate in society.
The food items, including wheat flour, maize flour, rice, sugar, and cooking oil, were meant to provide relief to vulnerable families.
Speaking during the food donation, Francis Awino, President of Bunge la Mwananchi, extended gratitude to H.E. Governor Sakaja for his support and selfless efforts in making a positive impact in their lives.
“We really express our gratitude to Governor Sakaja for the foodstuffs donation to our members. This donation will help our members have something on the table as they navigate the harsh economic times,” Awino said.
Sakaja has been leading in philanthropic acts across Nairobi where during the festive season the city governor led in the distribution of food stuffs to city residents across various corners of the Kenyan capital spreading love across all 17 sub counties of Nairobi.
