FROM STUDENT TO ADVOCATE
Mworia graduated with a master’s degree in Development Studies and a bachelor’s degree in Leadership and Management from St. Paul’s University. Her educational journey instilled in her a profound sense of determination, resilience, and the importance of effective leadership. Lucy is passionate about advocating for older women and marginalized communities in Kenya, dedicating her efforts to inspire hope and empower individuals to rise above their circumstances.
EMPOWERING VOICES
With over 30 years of expertise in leadership and social development, she serves as the founder and CEO of the Kenya Pro-Ageing Organization (KPAO). Her organization is dedicated to promoting active aging and safeguarding the rights of elderly individuals, empowering them to have a significant voice in decisions that impact their futures.
Dedicated to improving the lives of seniors, Lucy works on initiatives related to community development, peacebuilding, and empowering women.
In addition to her work with KPAO, she has served on the board of Merti Technical and Vocational College and the Isiolo County Public Service Board, where she advocates for transparency and accountability in public service. Lucy is committed to inclusivity, respecting the diverse backgrounds and beliefs of people, and using this understanding to address social challenges.
MISSION OF CHANGE
Mworia’s unwavering commitment to social justice has earned her numerous accolades, including the prestigious Head of State Commendation (HSC) from President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2021. Beyond her impressive professional achievements, Lucy is a devoted mentor and volunteer, making significant contributions to organizations such as the Kenya Red Cross and the Kenya Child Welfare Society. For her, the mission of positively impacting the lives of others goes far beyond career ambitions; it represents her true vocation and passion.
