Boost For Gor Mahia Ahead Al Ahly Merowe Tie

Sensational winger Boniface Omondi marked his return to Gor Mahia by scoring the only goal to ensure that the green army continued its dominance over their arrivals AFC Leopards in the much-hyped Mashemeji Derby played at the Moi Stadium, Kasarani on Wednesday.

Omondi’s goal was a reminisce of his 2019 goal against Leopards sweeping the keeper and two defenders before scoring his goal.

Gor Mahia lost many chances against Leopards with their head coach Mark Harrison taking note of the wasted chances during his post-match interview with reporters.

”Jules should have scored in the first half when he hit the post, Sammy should have scored with his shot going off the target, but that’s how it goes I would stress too much on it, they will get their chances and score goals” said Harrison.

”We are going into Sunday’s game with a positive mind expecting a win against Merowe, we know we are 3-1 up and this win is a boost for my side, am expecting the best out of my boys” added Harrison when asked about Sundays CAF Confed qualifiers game against Merowe on 24th Sunday at the Nyayo Stadium, 4 pm kick-off.

The win now sees Gor Mahia 5th on the table with 6points while having a match in hand Ulinzi Stars are the table leaders with 7points after playing 3games.

Aussems rued his squad urging them to learn to have more composure in the attacking third if they expect to win in the upcoming derby matches.
