Winners of the CECAFA zone qualifiers Vihiga Queens will face an uphill task in the inaugural Women’s Champions league according to the draw that was conducted on Wednesday 29, 2021 at the CAF Headquarters in Cairo.The draw was led by CAF Director of Competitions Samson Adamu alongside Nigerian Legend Perpetua Nkwocha and Wadi Degla FC captain and Egyptian National team player Alia Zenouki.
The three-time Football Kenya Federation Women Premier League champions has been pooled in Group B against COSAFA qualifiers winners and three-time South Africa champions, Mamelodi Sundowns , winners of UNAF qualifiers ASFAR of Morocco and WAFU B qualifiers runners-up and Nigeria champions River Angels.
Group A will feature hosts and Twelve-time Egyptian champions Wadi Degla,WAFU A qualifiers winners and three-time Mali Champions AS Mande, WAFU B qualifiers winner Hasaacas Ladies of Ghana and UNIFFAC qualifiers winner and Equitorial Guinea champions Malabo Kings FC. Hosts, Wadi Degla will play the opening match against A Mande.
The final tournament has been scheduled from November 5-19 in Cairo, Egypt.
