The 2017 World Cross Country champion Lilian Kasait Rengeruk has been banned for using prohibited substance Letrozole.
The Athletics Integrity Unity (AIU) banned Kasait winner of the World Youth 3000m title in 2013 for 10 months.

“On January 20, 2022, Kasait provided a sample out-of-competition during a doping control conducted on behalf of the Athletics Integrity Unit (AIU) of World Athletics, which resulted in an adverse analytical finding of Letrozole (the AFF) which is a specified substance, prohibited at all time,” read a statement from AIU.
It went on: “On February 16, 2022, the AIU notified the athlete of the AAF and of potential anti-doping rule violations pursuant to Rule 2.1 and Rule 2.2 of the World Athletics Anti-Doping Rules. On February 23, 2022, the athlte responded to the notice with an explanation and requested to enter into a Case Resolution Agreement to resolve the matter pursuant to Rule 10.8.2.”
The athlete together with AIU and the World Anti Doping Agency (WADA) entered into a case resolution agreement and Kasait admitted committing the offense and agreed to be sanctioned for 10 months.
“Taking into consideration how promptly the athlete admitted the offense upon notification, parties agreed that the period of ineligibility shall be backdated so the athlete will serve five months from September 19, 2022 and it will end on February 18, 2023,” the statement read.
