An elite group of Kenyan football coaches have received their CAF-A diploma. The coaches got their diplomas today, Monday, August 21, 2023
following their successful completion of their refresher course that closed on Friday, August 18, 2023.
A total of 25 coaches that took part in the training program have been awarded their CAF A diplomas with the exception of Ken Kenyatta who was unable to complete his mandated hours. CAF has insisted that all CAF A diploma holders must complete the stipulated hours and Kenyatta will now be required to complete those hours within the next three months to be eligible for certification.
This training was anchored on their previous CAF A training that was conducted in Machakos. It was to ensure the coaches are able to be abreast with new football education that included elements of sports science and technology, and modern trends.
The course, which was under the tutelage of CAF instructors Francis Kimanzi and Ali Salim, drew the country’s elite coaches.
Among the coaches who took part were Tusker FC coach Robert Matano, his Kenya Police counterpart Francis Baraza, former Harambee Stars coach Jacob Ghost Mulee, and former Ulinzi Stars coach Benjamin Nyangweso.
Former KCB coach Zedekiah Otieno, Posta Rangers coach John Kamau, Sammy Pamzo Omollo, Gilbert Selebwa, Twahir Muhiddin, and Yussuf Chippo were also part of the course.
Another batch of 25 coaches is expected to embark on their CAF A course this October and this gradually increases the number of CAF A certified coaches to a total of 50 in our country.
