European Champs Italy Finish Third in Nations Cup

Italy edged out the World’s top ranked team in the Fifa standings Belgium 2-1 in third place Nations Cup play offs in Turin, Italy.

Italian Serie A champions Inter Milan forward Nicolo Barella opened the scoring with a volley a minute after the interval before Sasuolo’s Domenico Berardi scored from the penalty spot for the leveler in the 54^th minute.

Roberto Mancini’s side doubled their lead from the spot when Thibaut Courtois’ glove could only divert Berardi’s effort into the top corner after Timothy Castagne had brought down the lively Federico Chiesa.
