Former Kenya’s Premier league champions Sofapaka and Ulinzi Stars got their 2021/22 Football Kenya Federation Premier League (FKF PL) campaigns positively by chalking up wins in their season opening matches on Sunday, September 26th, 2021.
The 2009 champions Sofapaka edged out Nairobi City Stars 3-1 at Dawson Mwanyumba Stadium in Wundanyi, Taita Taveta County.
Joe Waithera struck in the 42nd and 90th minutes, while the FKF PL best midfielder Lawrence Juma was also on the score sheet after converting an 82nd minute penalty to bag the big win for the Betika sponsored Batoto ba Mungu.

Michael Bikokwa converted from the spot to earn five times champions Ulinzi a slim 1-0 win over Nzoia Sugar at Nakuru ASK Showground.
