FKF Premier League Players to Wait Longer as League Resumption Pushed Forward

FKF premier league players are set to wait a little more longer before the resumption of league matches to allow the testing of players against the novel corona virus.

After a long break the matches were set to resume tomorrow 12 May, 2021 at the Kasarani Stadium with a double pitting AFC Leopards against relegation bound Mathare United and Gor Mahia playing away against money bags Wazito fc.

In a communication sent to all participating clubs , the teams have been informed to send a list of 25players, 10 officials to be tested of covid-19 in line with government protocals before the league can resume.

โ€œIn view of the above, we wish to inform you that FKF plans to roll out the COVID 19 testing exercise from tomorrow, Tuesday, May 11, 2021, therefore, we kindly but urgently request your club to provide the federation with the below listed details, by tomorrow, May 11, 2021 at 8.00am, to guide the testing process.

โ€œA list of 25 players and 10 officials to be tested, the clubs contact person, his/her telephone number and email address.โ€ Read a statement from the federation to premier league sides.

The new kick off date has been set for May 14th two days after the initialy stipulated date.

The leagues management body is expected to send out a new fixture schedule in line with the new kick off date.
