The 2020/21 Premier League Awards Gala will take place at Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi on September 11, Football Kenya Federation said on Sunday.
The ceremony will acknowledge the efforts of coaches and players who shone throughout the season despite the numerous challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The pandemic turned the situation so dire to an extent fixtures had to be suspended on two different occasions.
The federation said it will reward individuals who stood out in 12 different categories, including the Most Valuable Player whose winner will pocket Ksh 500,000 as well as a customized trophy.
Winners in the main categories will each receive Ksh 300,000, while runners-up and all third-placed will receive Ksh 200,000 and Ksh 100,000 respectively alongside trophies.
Also lined up are the Golden Glove (Best Goalkeeper), the Defender of the Year, the Best Midfielder, the Golden Boot winner (Top Scorer), Young Player, Coach of the Year and the Team Fair Play.
Others are the best Referee, the Assistant Referee of the Year, Team Manager of the Year, Digital Team of the Year and the President’s Award.
The event will be held under the strict guidance of the Covid-19 protocols as outlined by the Ministry of Health.
