Former Football Kenya Federation (FKF) Nairobi Branch Chairman Simon Mugo has declared his support for Richard Ngatia in the Nairobi Gubernatorial race as the campaigns for the August general elections shape up.
The former sports administrator lauded Ngatia as a leader who is passionate for sports and has a history of offering support to sports dating way back since he knew the business mogul.
Mugo, a former patron of Kangemi All-stars recalled that Ngatia was the man behind a past famous tournament the defunct Chairman’s cup which he sponsored through his company Megascope Healthcare.
Ngatia is the Managing Director and CEO of Megascope Healthcare, a major corporate player in the healthcare industry in Kenya and across the entire continent.
Megascope is a key provider for the healthcare equipment leasing scheme for County Governments in Kenya and in recent years the company has received many local and international awards in recognition of its work in the healthcare sector.
“I have known Richard Ngatia as a man who strongly believes in giving back to society. He sponsored Chairman’s cup, Kangemi Allstars and many other tournaments when I was leading football in Nairobi and yet , he had no political ambition at the time,” Mugo said.
Both the Nairobi governor aspirant Ngatia and Mugo were born and brought up in Kangemi, Westlands part of Nairobi.
Ngatia, the Chamber President for Kenya National Chamber of Commerce & Industry (KNCCI),has recently been leading in all the opinion polls conducted by different polling companies.
