Kenya Beats Injera’s Samurai to Retain Safari Sevens Title

Samurai coached the world rugby sevens all time second try scorer Collins Injera were beaten by Kenya’s Sevens national team ‘Shujaa’ 19-0 in this year’s Safari Sevens tournament  at RFUEA grounds, Nairobi on Sunday, November 19th, 2023.

Patrick Odongo scored the first try that was converted by Tony Omondi for a 7-0 score lead at the breather.

On resumption Kevin Wekesa touched down for Kenya while Patrick Odongo added the third try that was converted by Tony Omondi to hand Shujaa the victory.

Enroute to the final the nine time champions humbled Germany 19-5 in the last four while Samurai defeated Uganda 21-19.
