Ngatia takes campaign to Kibera with promise of goodies for slums

Nairobi, Sunday 26th March, 2022: The Jubilee Party Nairobi Gubernatorial hopeful Richard Ngatia takes his campaigns to Kibera, the home turf of Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party leader Raila Odinga.
Ngatia, the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) president will hold a mega rally at Kamkunji grounds where he is expected to address issues that affect residents of the area as well as other informal settlement areas within Nairobi.

Ahead of the rally, Ngatia yesterday met grassroots opinion leaders to understand the needs of the people from the populous area.

Ngatia has promised to fix the water problems that face the county once he gets elected at the August polls.
“It is sad that most parts of the city have dry taps. Most people in Nairobi and especially the informal sector have no access to clean piped water. Water vendors fleece the people off their money due to the water scarcity in the county. We will endeavor to ensure that the coming days will be different, that no Nairobian will have to worry about water,” Ngatia said.

He has also said that his government will fix the unemployment crisis in the city. Ngatia, one of the leading lights in the Azimio La Umoja campaign team in Nairobi has on the campaign trail outlined a number of strategies, among them luring more investors for industrialisation and directly involving youths in environmental and sanitation programs to transform the economic state of the people of Nairobi.

Ngatia has promised to build more public toilets within the slums, main markets, satellite towns around the CBD and other fast growing areas. “Public toilets generate a minimum of Sh 100,000 a day but we cannot tell where the money goes. We are going to build more and have 100 youths taking care of each one of them,”Ngatia said.

Ngaria has promised to initiate development projects that will benefit local communities within the slum areas of Kibera, Jua Kali, Mahira, Huruma Ex-Grogon, Kahonoki, Kiamutisya, Baba Dogo Kasabuni, Baba Dogo Kariadudu, Gathecha Lucky, Kitui, City Carton Buru Buru, Githogoro, Mji wa Huruma, Mukuru, Fuata Nyayo, Kisii, Site Village, Hazina Sokoni, Maili Saba, Mihango, and Mwengenye among other slums.

Ngatia will woo the voter rich constituency that is the political bedrock of the Azimio La Umoja Presidential candidate Raila Odinga to vote for him as the forth governor of the city at the August 9th, 2022 general elections.

Ngatia will during the Kibra mega rally campaign for his election and that of Raila Odinga as the fifth President of Kenya.
