NYAMWEYA HAS RIGHTS – VISITATION RIGHTS THOUGH

By Hezbon Mogambi,

The successful promotion of Shabana FC to the top tier league of Kenyan football has seen the return of all sorts of fathers- deadbeats, distant uncles and even the ‘one nighters’ who now claim that their DNA genes were critical in the making of this baby Shabana. While it’s human nature to want to be part of a good story, the return of former FKF President, Sam Nyamweya to be club must be stopped by all means necessary. If the CCTV shows Nyamweya in the conception room of Shabana – the footage must be deleted! If the birth certificate has his surname somewhere- the file must disappear!

Without doubt, Nyamweya has contributed immensely materially and otherwise to the club hence he has a right to claim association with the club. However, under the current circumstances the greatest good of Shabana and the Omogusii community must overtake the rights of Nyamweya. His negative comments on the club sponsorship deal with Bangbet, shows a man who is determined to sink the boat hence must be thrown out of the boat first.

Shabana needs a youthful and ambitious leadership team to confront the challenges of the modern game and to thrive in the competitive Kenyan Premier League. They say people don’t grow old merely by living a number of years. They grow old by deserting ideals. As far as leadership ideals are concerned- Nyamweya is old. His checkered past in football leadership will do more harm among the fans and the corporate brands that the club needs.

Nyamweya has rights – but visitation rights as a fan.
