Sakaja Super Cup: Nairobi Champions League Winners Terror Squad Reach Quarters

The Nairobi Champions League Winners Terror Squad booked a spot in the constituency quarter finals in the Sakaja Super Cup after being held to a 0-0 draw by Reliable Base at Njiru grounds in Wednesday, November 8th, 2023.

The result means that Terror Squad have eliminated Reliable Base on goal difference.

Terror Squad and Reliable completed their Kasarani sub county group stage pool A matches and are both tied with seven points but the Nairobi Champions League winners enjoy a superior goal difference to finish second.

Terror Squad finish second behind Kamulu United the group winners who topped the standings with 10 points.

In Kasarani pool B, Leventis United won their last match to qualify for the quarters on the last day of the of the group stage.

Leventis United thrashed Kasarani Midhill FC 4-1 to leapfrog Ruai Sportiff into second place and book the last qualifying slot.

Leventis United qualified on a superior goal difference to join table toppers Stamford who qualified despite not honouring the final fixture.

Stamford who are on top with nine points and their opponents Shirink both failed to turn up for the match at Muhuri Muchiri grounds in Ruai.

Stamford topped the pool with seven points ahead of second placed Ruai Sportiff which has amassed seven points three more than Shirink in third spot.

Fredrick Omondi, Evans Otieno, Julius Owino and Dennis Matieka were on target for Leventis’ convincing win.

In Embakasi North, league leaders Dandora Hotspur suffered a shock elimination on the last day in a dramatic pool D finish after losing 2-1 to Kariobangi Sports.

Following the win, Kariobangi Sports topped the pool with nine points to be joined by Dandora Fullnesco 2-0 winners over Dandora Derby who moved from third to second by amassing a total of eight points as Kariobangi Sports finished in third spot with six.

In Ruaraka, Baba Dogo United tightened their grip at the top by finishing first in pool B with a 100 per cent winning records, by pipping Lucky Summer All Stars 2-1 courtesy of a brace by Duncan Chakali.

Despite the loss, Lucky Summer All Stars qualified by finishing second with seven points but with a superior goal difference to Mathare North United to join Baba Dogo United who won the group 12 points.

In Embakasi East, Team Unfit eliminated early pacesetters Westlife from the tournament in their final pool C fixture at Ruben grounds.

Team Unfit edged Westlife 2-1 to top the standings and eliminate the league leaders from the tournament.

Team Unfit moved from third spot to top the standings with seven points as Real Soweto Hope FC fought to a barren draw against Savanah Boda to grab the second spot and book a qualification ticket to the quarters with six points.
The fifth round last group stage matches will continue on Thursday, November 9th, 2023 in various venues in Nairobi with teams eyeing to book constituency quarter final place scheduled to kick off this coming weekend on November 11th-12th, 2023.
