Sakaja Super Cup: Riruta End Oliech’s Dagoretti Santos Unbeaten Run

Dagoretti Santos the boyhood club of Kenya’s second all time top goal scorer and former national football team Harambee Stars captain Denis Oliech suffered their first Sakaja Super Cup defeat on Saturday, November 4th, 2023.

A lone goal netted in the 30th minute by Fredrick Onyango was enough to earn Riruta 105 FC a 1-0 win against a 10-man Dagoretti Santos at Ruthimitu Primary School in the Dagoretti South sub county group stage matches as the tournament entered match day four.

In another Dagoretti South fixture,  B-13 were beaten 2-1 by Samwest. Collins Kariuki and Shadrack Gichui were on target to guarantee Samwest’s win as a lone goal scored Brighton Gitonga handed Kitchen College a 1-0 victory over Nairobi Chapel.

In Westlands, University of Nairobi (UoN) Red City thrashed Young City 3-0 at Kihumbuini grounds.

Gonda Mohamed, Enock Wanyonyi and Makori Frank netted the the students goals to collect maximum points.

In another Westlands sub county fixture, Elly Kogo and Robert Cheruiyot scored a brace each for Gachie Friends to wallop Atlantic 4-1.

In Embakasi South Sub County, Joel Mureithi’s lone strike in the 4th minute earned FC Barca a 1-0 win over Cyprus at Reuben Stadium.

In another match, Dream Team rallied from a goal down to beat Green Santos 2-1. Second half goals by Hope Otieno and Isaya Morara guaranteed Dream Team the hard fought win.

At the same venue, Corinthians beat Bokastars 3-1. Stephen Analo, John Andere and Fredrick Achola scored the winning team’s goals.

In Dagoretti North, The Sants emerged as 2-1 victors over The Blues at Gatinqa Primary School.

Tom Stephen and Nyabal Gabriel were on target for the Saints as Derrick Mulima scored The Blues consolation goal.

In Ruaraka, Mathare City blanked Homeboys 2-0 as Baba Dogo United beat Ajax Rock City by the same margin at Drive Inn primary School.

In Starehe sub county, FC Lion collected easy points after their opponents Pangani didn’t show up for the fixture at  Land Mawe ground.

In another match, Gift Mumo netted twice to gift Kawasaki a 3-1 victory over Ngara Sportiff as Zablon Mwera all important goal gave Nairobi Holding a 1-0 win over Korogez.
