Sakaja Super Cup: Technical University Students Swim in Kisima

Technical University Hummers walloped Kisima FC 3-0 to progress into the constituency semi finals as the tournament’s knock-out stage got underway over the long weekend.

Sylvester Oloo, Stanley Omeme and Bruce Onyango scored for the students to progress into the Starehe constituency semi finals.

Pre-match favourites, the 2019 Chapa Dimba finalists Jericho All Stars suffered a shock elimination from the tournament in Makadara constituency quarter finals at Makongeni grounds courtesy of a 10th minute lone goal scored by Michael Mureithi.

In another match in Makadara, Bahati All Stars booked a semi finals ticket by beating Maringo All Stars 4-3 through post match penalties as the match between former Kenyan Premier League Black Mamba was abandoned due to darkness and heavy rain during penalties.

The tournament’s disputes committee chaired by the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) National Executive Nairobi representative Michael “Chair” Ouma ruled that the penalties will be taken afresh on Wednesday, November 15th, 2023. The match was stopped when both teams were tyeing 4-4.during the shootouts.

Raman Okol netted the all important goal in the 20th minute for Country Bus to pip South B Combined 1-0 and earn the club that the former national football team Harambee Stars captain book a ticket into the semi finals at Landi Mawe grounds.

In other Starehe knock-out matches, Vincent Muturi netted twice from the spot for Pelico to edge out MCC 2-1 as Kawasaki beat MacMillan 2-0.

In Kibra, Sitambili pipped Kibera Golden 1-0 as Makina All Stars beat Inter Base 2-0 while Kibera Arts edged Shofco FC 1-0 with Katwekera All Stars blanking Laini Saba 3-0 to reach the semi finals.

In Roysambu, Ramah Sanah netted a brace as Holy Mary FC edged out Bentoz FC 3-2 at Padpieri grounds.

Sanah scored twice in succession before Okoth Matolo scored the winning goal in the 79th minute after Moses Okoth and Wilson Mwendwa had cacelled Holy Mary’s lead.

In Dagoretti North, Kilimani beat Siesta 8-7 through post match penalties after a 1-1 stalemate as Classic rout Kile Soccer 3-0 while Fifa Best pipped Maranatha 4-3 with Escalators overwhelming Kabiro Youth 3-0 to reach the semis.

In Embakasi West, Tena United edged out Sinto Charity 3-2 Mowlem eliminated Ten Daily 3-0 through post match penalties after 2-2 draw during normal time as Alegzin pipped Hope Sportiff 1-0 while Despanol beat Katenje FC 4-3 to progress into the next round.

In Embakasi Central, Fortune Kinderen qualified for the semis with 6-5 through post match penalties as Omondi Jargso was on fire with a hatrick for Mofire to tame Legends 3-0 while Jaba FC were disqualifed for Kayole Masters to qualify after assaulting the referee in the 85th when they were tying 1-1 before the match got abandoned.

Kayole Masters was abandoned due to insecurity caused by crowd trouble. The organisers are waiting the referees report to make a decision.

In Westlands at Kihumbuini grounds, Gullyside trounced Deep Sea United 6-2 as City Park beat Karura Green 2-0 while Leads United pipped Kipande FC 3-2 with Kibagare Slums getting better of Patriots 3-1.

In Embakasi East, William Omutanyi scored a last minute penalty for Bromley to pip Santos Hotspur 1-0 as Kevin Ocheng’s first half goal was enough for Real Soweto Hope to beat Embakasi All Stars 1-0.

In Kamkunji, Shauri Moyo beat a ten man Walalah 3-0 courtesy of goals scored by Fredrick Otieno, Felix Okoth and Kiaka Nelly as Walalah’s Mohammed Feizal was red carded as Isili South beat Yatch 2-0

In Embakasi North, Dandora Fullnesco eliminated Kariobangi Stars 3-0 as Clever beat Kariobangi FC 5-4 through post match penalties.

In Ruaraka, Duncan Chakali’s two goals and one each by Dennis Omollo and Nicholas Omondi earned Baba Dogo United a 4-0 victory over Mathare Flames as St John beat Mathare North Youth 2-0 while Lucky Summers Sports won against Homeboys by a similar scoreline.

In Kasarani, a Walter Philip lone goal enbaled Mwiki United to pip Kamal Fc as Victor’s Faith beat Made in the Streets 2-1 at Njiru grounds.
