The 2009 Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Sofapaka thrashed league runners up Kakamega Homeboyz 3-1 at Moi, Kasarani Ennex in Nairobi.

Simon Abuko extended the lead for Batoto Ba Mungu with an 80th minute penalty after Ben Stanley Omondi was brought down in the box.

The win takes Sofapaka upto 11th on the table standings with 25 points while Kakamega Homeboyz slumped to their third straight loss under coach Patrick Odhiambo and are now 10th with the same number of points as Sofapaka.

AFC Leopards netted an early first half goal to pip Posta Rangers 1-0 at the Nyayo National Stadium.

Cliff Nyakeya scored the all important goal for Ingwe after being put through by Victor Omune in the 2nd minute.

Moses Shikanda grabbed a brace within a span of ten minutes with Fredrick Alushula netting once as Eric Opiya scored Vihiga’s consolation.

Two times Football Kenya Federation Cup champions Bandari FC edged out Mathare United 1-0 to record their second consecutive win at Moi, Kasaeani Annex.

Umaru Kasumba guaranteed the coastal based with maximum points by neting lone goal in the 15th minute.

 

The win moves Bandari into eighth position on the log while Mathare United remain 15th with 19 points.

 

Nzoia Sugar FC 2-2 Kenya Police FC

 

Nzoia Sugar were held to a 2-2 draw at the Sudi Sports ground in Bungoma.

James Kibande and Joseph Mwangi scored for the sugar millers while new signing Derrick Otanga and Elvis “Machapo” Rupia were on the mark for the policemen.
