Sports CS ABabu Namwamba Hosts AFC Leopards in Busia

Kenyan Premier League 13 times champions AFC Leopards Junior side will battle Isambo Elite in a “Bottom-Up” football match as the curtains of the Isambo Carnival Season 9 come down on December 31st, 2022 in Busia.

The AFC Leopards under 19 team which plays in the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) national division two will battle Isambo Elite at Lunyofu Sports ground at 2pm to crown the Isambo Carnival which has been organized by the Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba.

“Thereafter there will be a new year’s eve music and fireworks extravaganza at the Che’s Bay Resort from 6pm,” said Namwamba in a statement by when extending an invitation.

The annual festivities are meant to foster peaceful co-existence between the communities along the Lake Region, while also acting as a talent spotting and nurturing platform in a bottom-up model approach.

The festivals dubbed the Isambo Cultural Festivals and Beach Carnival attracted over 1000 participants, who took part in various sporting activities including boat riding, Beach volleyball, football matches and to crown it all was the Miss Isambo Beauty Pageantry competition.

CS Ababu Namwamba has developed a grand plan to identify and nurture raw talents in the country, as he seeks to build from the grassroots.
