“Stay Away from the Ward Development Fund CEO,” Nairobi Governor Warns Eastleigh North MCA

Nairobi  Governor Johnson Sakaja has warned Members of County Assembly (MCAs) to stop undermining the Nairobi City Wards Development Fund Chief Executive Officer Ms Josephine Kithi.

In a thinly veiled attack, Sakaja pointed his finger Easthleigh North MCA Ahmed Dabar aka Kador for being behind a scheme of pushing Kithi out from her job.

“It has come to my attention that there is a scheme against the Nairobi Ward Development Fund CEO, which I will not allow to happen under my watch,” said Sakaja.

He added: “I have confidence in Kithi in delivering on her mandate as the Ward Development Fund boss based on her proven track record. My government will support her in serving the people of Nairobi and won’t be distracted by any schemes and machinations that have been hatched against her.”

Dabar had hatched a scheme of mobilizing MCAs to pass to forcibly eject her from her office and also institute a vote of no confidence against her.

The governor said the executive and other county offices will not be blackmailed and arm twisted by Dabar into serving his selfish interests and submitting into his ulterior motives.

Sakaja asked the MCAs to be objective by sticking to their legislative and oversight roles instead of interfering with the executive by politicizing issues.

“Please allow the executive and other independent offices in the county to operate independently without interference and blackmail. If there is a problem with officers in my government just follow the right procedure for it be adequately addressed,” said Sakaja.
