ODM Chairperson John Mbadi now claims that President William Ruto is committing the same political mistakes he was accusing his predecessor Uhuru Kenyatta of during the campaign period.
ODM Chairman John Mbadi accused President William Ruto of using KRA as a weapon and overtaxing Kenyans, something he wants him to refrain from because he used to accuse Uhuru for the same.
“This nation contains dishonest people. The issue for this country is the expense of living, not constitutional amendment. Don’t overtax our people; if I give money to my mother, that is a transfer of resources, not an income “Mbadi claims.
“The KRA should handle tax matters; the presidency is not a body responsible for collecting taxes. In KRA, we have capable individuals. Taxes owed by the Kenyatta family must be paid, but KRA may pursue them if necessary.” Mbadi added.
Mbadi has also charged Ruto with seizing control of the judiciary and making it “impotent.”
At a campaign event on February 12 in Thika, Ruto asserted that Uhuru had turned KRA against his detractors and the Kenya Kwanza supporters.
