Kenyans were treated to a month long entertainment of the European football tournament the Euro 2020 but the ugly scenes witnessed of fans violence in the finals overshadowed the excitement.
These were appalling scenes of “mindless violence” by England ticketless fans trying to force their way into Wembley Stadium in London and the assaulted on Italians in retaliation to the Three Lions loss to the Azzuris after the match is unnaceptable as it made the beautiful game look ugly.
The violence spoils the gains made by English football which is consumed by many by painting a grim and bad picture.
Football is not defined by violence. There is an unacceptable link between football and violence.
